Radar Hair and Records

Welcome to Radar Hair and Records. We are a Hair Salon and Record Store in the SODO district of Seattle where you can get a cut, color, and style, shop for vinyl LPs and 45s and vintage audio gear, and find vintage clothing and knick knacks that you may have thought you could only find at a dusty shop on the side of the highway.

At Radar, you’ll find stylists committed to helping you realize your personal stylistic vision, no matter what you’re aiming for. Radar’s roster of stylists have a range of specialties, backgrounds, and fees, and many are also artists, musicians, or designers. The hair stylists you’ll find at Radar are the most talented in the city, and you’ll feel that way when you leave the salon.

Husband/wife duo Betsy Hansen and Johnny Samra have deep roots in Seattle’s arts community, and over the years have each dreamed up countless projects from punk bands to highly successful fundraisers. In July of 2010, Radar Hair and Records opened its doors to the public, and the vortex of creative people and ideas surrounding Johnny and Betsy finally found a place to take shape. Radar is not just home to the cities’ favorite hair stylists—Radar is a gallery, a record store, a vintage shop, and a unique space for creative people and projects to thrive. Since 2010, Radar has hosted countless bands, art and fashion shows, and fundraising events, and has become an indispensible part of Seattle’s creative community.

Radar Pets

Some pooches belonging to Radar staff hang out at the shop since they’re unable to be home alone all day, so we ask that our clients do not bring their dogs into the salon.

Thank you!

Betsy Hansen Cancer Fund

We are past the half way mark. If the cancer is small enough we are looking at surgery around Novemberish. Or they will give her 2 more rounds and then check her again. She is doing really well this time with the infused chemo over the 48 hours.
